"Kaleodoscopic....Quiltlike....A bit of Escher..." Snippets of Time collages, based on geometric patterns and tessellations, are designed with my photographic images. From one to more than 100 photographs may be used in a single hand crafted collage.  Art papers are occasionally incorporated in a design. However, the majority of patterns, abstractions, and textures in the collages have been created entirely from my photographs.

I love photography---to capture a moment in time, a simple object, a 'snippet'of life. Capturing the images for my collages has greatly expanded my vision---requiring me to focus on minute image details, emphasize unique features of a visual composition, and underscore the very basic elements of design.

Each photographic image is individually edited on my computer. An individual image may be filtered, modified, or cropped to emphasize a specific portion or pattern and printed. Or, the entire photographic image may printed and pieces cut from the photo at a later point in time. 

Once images have been processed and printed, the handwork portion of the process begins. Every piece used in each collage is cut by hand, arranged by hand, and individually glued in place. Although much of the process could be completed digitally, it is through the actual cutting, placing, and gluing of each tiny piece (sometimes less than 1 inch in size) that I derive creative fulfillment. Each collage evolves into a totally unique, handmade composition, comprised of "papers" that I have created from my photographs. Archival quality papers, inks, and glues are used.

Commissions are accepted to created collages from your own photos, mementos, and personal "snippets of time."
