Diane Couch

A Bachelor of Fine Arts degree was earned from Indiana State University, Terre Haute, Indiana.  My major field of study was studio art and metalsmithing with a minor in art history.  Upon graduation, I apprenticed as a bench jeweler and diamond setter to perfect my skills as a fine jeweler.  After 30 years of designing and selling my own line of jewelry to craft galleries from coast to coast, I have decided to apply my talents to creating mixed media artwork.

As a mixed media artist, I combine painting, photography and construction techniques with a variety of materials.  Wood blocks, architectural hardware, rivets, and found objects are among the various components that inspire me to create unique one-of-a-kind works of art.  My most recent pieces feature vintage pencils collected by my father since the 1950's.

I am very excited to be a co-operative member of Art IN Hand Gallery!
